Carly W:and Carly Wilson delivering the latest scoop from the digital realm. Former Wondery executive Jeanine Wright is leading Inception Point AI, a new company focused on producing vast amounts of AI-generated audio content. The firm aims to flood the market with podcasts hosted by AI personalities, reducing costs and increasing scalability. Each episode can be produced for as little as one dollar, making the model highly profitable with even a small audience. Inception Point AI currently runs over 5,000 shows and generates more than 3,000 episodes weekly, accumulating 10 million downloads since September 2023. The podcasts range from simple weather reports to specialized series hosted by distinct AI characters like a food expert or a nature enthusiast. Wright dismisses criticism of AI content as lazy, asserting that quality AI-produced work already exists. The company is also experimenting with AI personalities on social media and short-form videos to create future influencers. To address ethical concerns, hosts openly identify as AI, and the company avoids deep personal backstories or emotional attachments. Inception Point AI does not aim to replace human podcasters but to coexist and explore topics often overlooked by humans. The startup remains bootstrapped but plans to seek funding as it expands.
Adam N2:Apple has officially announced the AirPods Pro 3 during their recent'Awe dropping' event, the first major reveal at the iPhone 17 launch. These next-generation earbuds promise significant improvements over the previous model. According to John Ternus, Apple's senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, the AirPods Pro 3 offer fantastic sound quality and the best active noise cancellation available in any in-ear wireless headphones. The new design features an improved fit aimed at providing greater stability for a wider range of users. Notably, the AirPods Pro 3 now include heart rate sensing capabilities, expanding their functionality beyond audio. Battery life has also been extended, allowing for longer usage on a single charge. Another new feature is Live Translation, powered by Apple Intelligence, which enhances real-time communication. This update is seen as a major step forward in personal audio technology. Apple continues to integrate health and connectivity features to differentiate its products in the competitive earbuds market. The AirPods Pro 3 set a new standard for wireless headphones with their blend of advanced technology and user-focused design. Apple unveiled its slimmest iPhone yet, named the iPhone Air, at its annual product showcase. The device measures just 5.6mm in width and features a 6.5-inch display made from spacecraft titanium. Despite its thinness, Apple assures the phone remains durable and crack-resistant. The iPhone Air will start at$999, with preorders beginning Friday and availability on September 19. Alongside the iPhone Air, Apple introduced updates to the iPhone 17 lineup, including enhanced cameras, processing speeds, and battery life. New features include a dual filming mode capturing both front and rear views and increased storage capacity. Apple also revealed the AirPods Pro 3 with improved noise cancellation and live translation capabilities for$249. The Apple Watch Series 11 was launched with health features targeting hypertension and sleep improvements. Amid these announcements, C.E.O Tim Cook acknowledged supply chain risks tied to U.S.-China tariffs but has mitigated potential price hikes by shifting production to India. Notably, Apple gave little attention to its generative AI initiatives, leaving analysts concerned it trails competitors like Google in artificial intelligence integration.
Carly W:Firefox is introducing a new feature that lets users shake their iPhone to receive an AI-generated summary of the webpage they are viewing. This feature will debut this week, utilizing Apple’s on-device AI for iPhone 15 Pro models and newer once iOS 26 is released. For older iPhones, Mozilla will rely on its own cloud-based AI to create summaries. Users can also access summaries by tapping a thunderbolt icon in the address bar or selecting“Summarize page” from the menu. The feature can be disabled to prevent accidental activations caused by phone movements. Summaries will only be available for webpages containing fewer than 5,000 words. Firefox becomes one of the first major third-party apps to adopt Apple Intelligence integration with this update. Initially, the shake-to-summarize feature will be limited to U.S users and English content. Mozilla plans to expand the feature globally and bring it to Android devices in the future. This rollout coincides with anticipated updates from Apple’s iPhone launch event. Anthropic has announced a new feature for its AI chatbot, Claude, enabling it to create and edit Excel spreadsheets, documents, PowerPoint slides, and PDFs directly within the chat interface. Users can now simply describe what they want, and Claude will generate the corresponding file without the need for copying and pasting. This enhancement allows for seamless file creation, such as producing formatted PDFs from edited essays or turning raw data into organized projects with charts and written insights. Claude achieves this by operating within a private compute environment, where it writes and executes code to fulfill user requests. The feature is currently available to Max, Team, and Enterprise plan users, with Pro users gaining access in the coming weeks. Users must manually enable the function in the settings under the experimental category before use. Upon completion, files can be downloaded directly or saved to Google Drive. However, Anthropic warns that granting Claude internet access to create and analyze files may pose data security risks. The company advises users to closely monitor their interactions when using this feature. This development marks a significant step forward in integrating AI into everyday productivity tasks.
